Griffon Vulture FoundationA part of Uvac River canyon surrounding the place called Pavlovića Brod was first protected in 1971 as the Special Nature Reserve covering the area of 267ha. In  1995, the protection regime was expanded thus covering the area of  2.717 ha. After 2006  revision, the reserve was extended to 7.543ha.

"Uvac" Special Nature Reserve was entrusted to "Griffon Vulture" Birds of Prey Protection Foundation that was located in Nova Varoš and that had been  the custodian of the reserve previously functioning under title "Uvac River Canyon". Regulation of the  amendments to the Regulation of "Uvac" Special Nature Reserve protection  determines the protected zone of "Uvac" SNR that, together with the reserve,  presents a unique, protected natural asset in terms of management and the way its has been taken care of.
