Visitors' Center Kokin Brod

Towards the end of 2007, Uvac Reserve l.t.d., the custodian of "Uvac" Special Nature Reserve submitted a project application , "Construction of visitors' centre, beach and marina in Kokin Brod", for the National Investment Plan funds.
Nova Varoš Municipality, Ministry of Environmental Protection, PD Drinsko-Limske HE and Uvac Reserve l.t.d. were to co-finance the project. The project has been approved and an intense work on collecting necessary approvals and licenses is ongoing. Certain problems related to property and legal relationships have appeared, but we are on the right way to overcome it, get the construction license and start building!
 Visitor's center is planned to be a kind of "entry" spot of the Reserve, id est the central place where most of the activities on Zlatar Lake would be performed. The center would also be a place where visitors could get informed about the protected natural asset, the code of conduct in the reserve as well as about the activities of the custodian. A map of the reserve, souvenirs, license for sport fishing could be bought there as well, promo and education material; they could also rent a boat or schedule an organized visit to the reserve. Different manifestations, seminars and alike would be organized in the center, which would be a contribution to the promotion of environment protection and the development of Zlatar region as a whole.
Building of the center and construction of the approach ramp would be efficient measures against negative practice such as riding motor boats and unlicensed construction. |
